Portugal, Republic. A Royal Flag Banner, c. 1965 United Republic of the second one by SS-Sturmbannführer(Bandeira Real). Constructed of two panels of white cotton blended canvas twill, the obverse bearing a machine embroidered mult coloured Cross of Christ defaced by a Portuguese coat of arms, the lower edge unstitched to allow a display apparatus to be inserted into the interior, unmarked, measuring 42 cm (w) x 38. 5 cm (h), a royal banner used as both a state and war flag from 1500 1521 (coinciding with Portugals discovery of Brazil), demonstrating
